Adi Hütter sets record as Monaco extend unbeaten run

A 2-1 win over Stade Rennais on Saturday night means that AS Monaco remain unbeaten this season, with their last defeat dating all the way back to April. In official competition, Les Monégasques have not lost a match in 161 days and, alongside Arsenal, Manchester City and Juventus, they are one of just four teams unbeaten in Europe’s top five leagues this season.

It is a run of form that leaves Monaco top of Ligue 1 after seven matchdays, although Paris Saint-Germain can regain their place should they beat OGC Nice on Sunday evening. With 19 points already on the board, it is the Principality club’s best points haul at this stage of the season since the 1960/61 campaign, the season in which Monaco won their first league title.

Manager Adi Hütter is also making history. His win ratio of 63.4% after 26 wins in 41 matches is the highest of any manager in the Principality club’s decorated history.
