Folarin Balogun (23) has begun the season strongly at AS Monaco. After a difficult first campaign at the Principality club following his big-money move from Arsenal, the USMNT forward is on the right path, and his progress has not been lost on manager Adi Hütter.
For the first time since joining Monaco, Balogun netted in consecutive games for the club, scoring against Le Havre AC and then Montpellier HSC in Ligue 1. The goal after the former brought to an end a run of one year without scoring at the Stade Louis II.
The USMNT international then came off the bench to earn the penalty that ultimately earned a point for Les Monégasques against Dinamo Zagreb in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday. Hütter gave his verdict on Balogun’s return to form.
“He is a great striker and I am sure that he can do even better. For now, he is not quite at his best level, but this season he is closer to the team and more connected,” said Hütter in a press conference, attended by Get French Football News.
