Amid sweeping changes at RC Lens this summer, a new austere regime has been introduced. As a result, Les Sang et Or have been attempting to sell some of their more prized, or least bankable, assets. Elye Wahi has already left, whilst Kevin Danso is in advanced talks to join Serie A side Atalanta.
Salis Abdul Samed (24) is another player that Lens are trying to move on. After a very successful 2022/23 campaign, there was a dropoff last year. This summer, reports have indicated that the Ghana international has been separated from first-team training and placed in the ‘loft’.
Three Ligue 1 clubs are now showing interest. Newly-promoted AS Saint-Étienne have studied a move for Abdul Samed, according to Foot Mercato, but they aren’t “well-placed” to wrap up a move. Stade Brestois, competing in the UEFA Champions League this season, are currently leading the race and are in discussions with Lens regarding a loan deal.
Le Parisien have added that FC Nantes are also studying the possibility of bringing the defensive midfielder to the Beaujoire on loan.
