PSG confirm Gianluigi Donnarumma extension talks

Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed that talks are underway regarding a contract extension for No.1 goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma (25).

Donnarumma joined PSG from formative club AC Milan on a free transfer back in 2021 and has since made 117 appearances for Les Parisiens. It has not always been easy for the Italian since arriving at the Parc des Princes, with his No.1 jersey being contested by Keylor Navas following his arrival.

It was even reportedly called into question this summer with the arrival of Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov. With Spaniard Arnau Tenas also impressing Luis Enrique, it was reported that it was an open battle for the No.1 jersey. If it was, it was ultimately won by Donnarumma, who retains the place in between the sticks for PSG.

With the Italian’s contract expiring in 2026, sporting director Luís Campos has confirmed that talks are underway regarding an extension. “We are working on Donnarumma’s contract extension,” confirmed Campos during the Thinking Football Summit in Portugal.
