AS Saint-Étienne have officially announced the signing of Augustine Boakye (23) from Wolfsberger AC with the player joining on a four-year contract with the option for an additional year included.
Boakye was born in Ghana and made his professional debut in his home country for WAFA SC before he was picked up by Austrian outfit Wolfsberger in 2021. It was in Austria that Boakye came to ASSE’s attention as a flexible option who can play in midfield and as a forward (scoring 10 goals and recording seven assists last season in 26 appearances for the club).
Boakye becomes the fourth signing of the summer for Les Verts joining Yunis Abdelhamid (36), Ben Old (21), and Zuriko Davitashvili (23) as the club look to strengthen their squad ahead of their first season back in Ligue 1 since being relegated from the top flight at the end of the 2021/22 season.
