Nantes to re-sign Wolfsburg’s Nicolas Cozza on loan following Fabien Centonze’s knee injury

FC Nantes are set to re-sign Wolfsburg left-back Nicolas Cozza (25) on loan, according to reports from L’Equipe and Ouest-France. The former Montpellier player joined Les Canaris as part of a six-month loan last season in January. The 25-year-old featured 13 times for Nantes. Wolfsburg and Nantes have reportedly reached an agreement for Cozza’s loan on Thursday. The Ligue 1 side have worked on Cozza’s return in the wake of Fabien Centonze’s (28) knee injury.

The former Metz left-back sustained a knee injury during Nantes’ final pre-season game against Crystal Palace. Medical scans have revealed that Centonze had ruptured his right knee’s posterior ligament. The club expects Centonze to miss several weeks of action with Les Canaris. The 28-year-old spent the second half of the 2023-2024 season on loan at Serie A side Hellas Verona.

Nantes will host promoted side AJ Auxerre this Sunday at La Beaujoire, where Les Canaris have lost their last ten competitive outings.
