Game of the week: OGC Nice v Paris Saint-Germain, Sunday 19:45 (UK)
A diminished Nice side, without any preparation time and contending with injuries to key players, will have been happy to leave the Stade Bollaert with a point; they were arguably lucky to do so, with Marcin Bulka imperious, especially amid a first-half barrage on his goal. Preparation time is once again a luxury that Nice do not have. Their opponents, on Sunday night, PSG, play two days earlier (on Tuesday against Arsenal) than Nice, who travel to Rome to face Lazio on Thursday. With so many injuries to key players, and with other players being rushed back to plug holes, Franck Haise has his work cut out to secure any kind of result against Les Parisiens.
PSG, after a draw against Reims two weeks back, bounced back against Rennes. The 3-1 scoreline arguably flattered SRFC. Led by Bradley Barcola, the reigning Ligue 1 champions were much the better side and were fully deserving of their victory. Barcola, as well as Ousmane Dembélé, left out of the midweek Champions League game against Arsenal due to disciplinary reasons, could have a field day, assuming that the latter returns to the starting XI. That is not a given. However, in behind Jonathan Clauss and Ali Abdi, there are spaces to exploit and both Barcola and Dembélé have the ability to do so. With Nice having also netted eight goals in their last Ligue 1 home game, goals do seem a guarantee as PSG come to town.
