Brest consider Lens’ Massadio Haidara as Layvin Kurzawa alternative

Stade Brestois are desperate to bring in a full-back before the end of the transfer window. Before the start of the campaign, Les Ty-Zéfs lost Bradley Locko to an ACL injury that will rule him out of much, if not all of, the current campaign.

It was a huge blow for Brest, who are also competing in the UEFA Champions League this season. They do so with Jordan Amavi as their current first choice, however, both he individually and Brest collectively have struggled. After the first two rounds of Ligue 1 games, Les Pirates sit rock bottom of the league.

Finding a replacement for Locko is therefore a priority. Layvin Kurzawa, who has spent the summer retaining his fitness in Monaco, is a free agent following the expiry of his contract at Paris Saint-Germain, however, as reported by Foot Mercatocompleting the deal is proving difficult.

RC Lens’ Massadio Haidara is an alternative to Kurzawa, Foot Mercato understands. The Malian international only has one year remaining on his contract with Les Sang et Or, however, it remains to be seen whether Will Still’s side are open to letting Haidara leave, especially to a Ligue 1 rival.
