L’Équipe understands that Luka Elsner has informed the hierarchy at Le Havre AC that, should an offer arrive this summer, he wishes to leave the club.
Having got Le Havre promoted back into Ligue 1, he then succeeded in keeping them there this season. Their safety was secured on the final day of the season. His ability to do so on a shoestring budget has earned Elsner, as well as sporting director Matthieu Bodmer, praise.
However, whilst Bodmer committed his future to Les Ciel et Marine earlier in 2024, signing a contract extension with the club despite interest from elsewhere, Elsner wishes to leave. The manager told Le Havre’s hierarchy that he would like to study possibilities, or in other words if an offer arrives, he would like to leave the club.
The Franco-Slovenian manager is one of three names being considered for the vacant role at Stade de Reims, whilst two foreign clubs have also shown interest. Elsner’s priority for now is to remain in France, L’Équipe understands.
