Le Havre AC turned down a last-gasp offer from West Ham United for Etienne Kinkoué (22) in January. Whilst that €6m bid was rejected, Les Ciel et Marine may be more open to selling their defensive midfielder this summer, with just one year remaining on his contract. It remains to be seen whether West Ham will be reviving their interest but if they do, they will face competition from Olympique de Marseille, according to a report from Foot Mercato.
Kinkoué, at the age of just 22, has had plenty of experience in his young career, having come through the reserve sides at Inter Milan and Olympiacos. It was Mathieu Bodmer and Le Havre however who gave the midfielder his chance and in his 22 appearances for HAC last season, he contributed greatly to the club’s survival in Ligue 1.
A defensive midfielder by trade, he made his impact in defence last season and he could now be about to get a move. Kinkoué is attracting great interest, notably from Marseille.
