Wolverhampton right-back Ki-Jana Hoever to be loaned out to Auxerre

Wolverhampton right-back Ki-Jana Hoever (22) is set to be loaned out to promoted Ligue 1 side AJ Auxerre, according to a report this Tuesday from L’Equipe. The Yonne side is scouring the market for loan deals to bolster Christophe Pelissier’s squad until the end of the summer transfer window. The outlet understands that Auxerre are on the verge of signing Hoever on a season-long loan. The 22-year-old Dutch defender is tied to Wolverhampton over a contract set to expire in 2026 after signing from Liverpool in a €10m deal in 2020.

Hoever only played 25 games with Wolves, registering one assist. The right-back was loaned out to Eredivisie side PSV Eindhoven and EFL Championship outfit Stoke City in the past years. Hoever was not part of the Wolverhampton squad that lost 2-0 away to Arsenal in the Premier League’s season-opener. Auxerre, on the other hand, started the Ligue 1 campaign with a 2-1 home win against INEOS-owned OGC Nice.
