France ‘intrigued’ by Kylian Mbappé’s inclusion in Real Madrid squad after Les Bleus omission

According to L’Équipe, the coaching staff of the France national team are ‘intrigued’ by the decision of Carlo Ancelotti to include Kylian Mbappé (25) in his Real Madrid squad on Saturday evening. This comes after the 25-year-old was omitted from Didier Deschamps’ squad to represent Les Bleus during the upcoming international break.

France are gearing up to play Israel and Belgium in UEFA Nations League action during the upcoming international break but will be without the services of their captain due to doubts over his fitness. Despite this, L’Équipe understands that the former PSG attacker could be set to start for Los Merengues as they face Villarreal.

Boost to Real Madrid

The Champions League winners are said to fear the international break with the threat of players picking up injuries. Therefore, Mbappé’s omission from the Les Bleus squad will come as a boost to the Spanish capital club. Eduardo Camavinga and Ferland Mendy are also absent from the France squad due to injury.
