According to L’Équipe, Lucas Perri (26) is not really disturbed by the treatment of fellow goalkeeper Anthony Lopes (34) at Olympique Lyonnais. The Brazillian stopper has replaced the Lyon academy graduate as the new number one at the Groupama Stadium after serving a stint as the Portuguese international’s understudy at the end of last season.
Perri was promoted to the position of OL’s first-choice goalkeeper over the summer, with Lopes seemingly told he had no future at the Rhône club. With the latter failing to find a new club during the transfer window, the 34-year-old has now been forced out of the club and relegated to 4th choice goalkeeper.
This situation has not deterred Perri, who is primarily focused on being the first choice between the sticks for Lyon. On the other hand, fans of Les Gones have spoken out against the club’s treatment of their academy product with a banner in support of Lopes. The Portugal international stopper’s contract with OL is set to expire in June 2025.
