It remains to be seen whether Mohamed-Ali Cho (20) will get the chance to feature against his former side. The Frenchman, who signed for OGC Nice last January, is suffering with a minor heel injury ahead of Wednesday night’s UEFA Europa League clash and is therefore a doubt to face the La Liga outfit.
However, pre-match, in an interview with L’Équipe, he did at least reveal who he thought would be the key man to look out for in the tie between Nice and Real Sociedad at the Allianz Riviera. Cho’s move to Real Sociedad from SCO Angers back in 2022 never truly worked out for either party.
He made 40 appearances in what was an injury hit spell at the Spanish side, scoring twice and registering three assists. He has already bettered those figures since joining Les Aiglons in January, netting four goals and registering four asssits in 25 appearances.
With a strong knowledge of the Real Sociedad squad, he named the club’s key player. “Martínz Zubimendi – he’s a player. He is very good. People don’t speak a lot about him because he came through the academy there and because he is quiet. But honestly, when you see him play in real life, he is really, really good,” Cho told L’Équipe.
His performances for club and country have got people talking about him, however. The Spain international was heavily linked with a move to Premier League side Liverpool.
