According to a report by L’Équipe and RMC Sport, Désiré Doué (19) has added to the burgeoning injury crisis in the France U21s as the Espoirs prepare for their final two qualifying games for EURO 2025.
France U21s manager Gérald Baticle will also be without Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel (19) and Olympique Lyonnais’ Rayan Cherki (21) for the games against Cyprus on Friday the 11th of October and Austria on Tuesday the 15th.
Doué was part of Paris Saint-Germain’s matchday squad for the weekend’s tie against OGC Nice on Sunday evening. However, the summer signing from Stade Rennais did not make an appearance off the bench in the 1-1 draw.
Doué has been a significant part of the Espoirs but has had a slow start to life at his new club. Luis Enrique has been careful to manage his minutes with the attacking midfielder only making two starts since his move, these came in the games against Stade de Reims and Arsenal, with the rest of his appearances coming as a substitute.
