The match between OGC Nice and Toulouse FC, scheduled to take place at the Allianz Riviera on Sunday, could be postponed due to the state of the pitch.
Local authorities, the owners of the Allianz Riviera, crticised the state of the pitch in a press release earlier this week. Nice Eco Stadium, responsible for laying the pitch, responded with a commuiqué, citing the growth of mushrooms on the pitch, relayed earlier this summer following a Travis Scott concert, the weather conditions, and a series of Olympics matches held in the stadium have contributed to the state of the suboptimal pitch.
Just two days before the game is shceduled to take place, there are now doubts about whether it will in fact go ahead. Nice’s first home match of the season may be postpined with the LFP set to make a decision on whether the match will be played. Regardless, Nice Eco Stadium may have to change the pitch for the second time this season. A decision on Nice-Toulouse is expected in the coming hours.
