Toulouse FC have confirmed the signing of Charlie Cresswell (21). The Englishman joins from EFL Championship side Leeds United.
Despite a successful season on loan at Millwall in the 2022/23 campaign, Cresswell struggled for game time at his parent club last year as he struggled to break into a Leeds side that narrowly missed out on promotion back into the Premier League. He now departs the Championship club, with both clubs officialising the deal. The fee has not been revealed, although a figure of around €4m has been reported by the BBC.
Cresswell will be joining a side that has put youth at the front and centre of the club operations, with the team recording the youngest average age in Ligue 1 last season as they comfortably consolidated their spot in France’s top flight. The Englishman, the length of whose contract has not been divulged by Le TéFéCé, will now be hoping to break into Carles Martínez Novell’s plans, ahead of the upcoming campaign.
