Habib Beye rejects Senegal approach

Having guided Red Star FC to Ligue 2 last season, Habib Beye surprisingly left the Paris-based club over the summer, in search of a job in Ligue 1. He was confident of securing a spot on the touchlines in Ligue 1, with multiple posts opening up, including at Olympique de Marseille, which he described as a dream job.

However, Roberto De Zerbi took over at OM, and one by one, the other vacant positions were filled. Stade de Reims, now managed by Luka Elsner, were reportedly an interested party, as were recently-relegated FC Metz. However, the Canal Plus consultant was rather unequivocal in stating that he was looking for a job in France’s top flight.

That position has yet to present itself, however, Beye still seems set on it, to the extent that he may have turned down a tempting proposition. According to L’ÉquipeSenegal recently made contact with Beye, following the departure of Aliou Cissé. However, he has declined the approach as he is not at a point in his career where he wants to take charge of a national team.
