Foot Mercato and L’Équipe are both reporting that Igor Tudor has informed his squad that he will be leaving Olympique de Marseille at the end of the season.
As revealed by sources contacted by Get French Football News earlier this week, Tudor, who replaced Jorge Sampaoli at the Vélodrome at the beginning of the season, was yet to respond to an improved contract offer. The Croatian manager has a year remaining on his current deal, but he won’t see it through to the end.
Foot Mercato reported that whilst the board at Marseille are satisfied with the job that Tudor has done, leading the club to a third-place finish in Ligue 1, the manager himself didn’t want to continue. Tudor is reportedly “tired” of managing Les Phocééns, whilst he also dreams of training once again in Italy.
L’Équipe report that Tudor addressed his players this morning ahead of training and informed them that he will be leaving the club. The Croatian manager is expected to confirm his departure during today’s press conference.
