Philippe Diallo elected head of French FA until end of 2024

Philippe Diallo has been elected as head of the French FA until the end of 2024. Diallo had been in charge on an interim basis since Noël Le Graët’s resignation earlier this year.

Diallo said earlier this year that he would be open to staying in the position beyond the summer, and that has now come to pass. The Frenchman, chosen as a candidate by the COMEX, was elected on Saturday morning, receiving 91.26% of the votes.

This substantial vote of confidence means he will remain as the President of the French FA until the end of 2024, the length of the term that Le Graët was meant to serve before scandal and controversy, in the form of allegations of sexual harassment and inappropriate behaviour, which he denies, brought a premature end to his tenure on 28th February.

Speaking at the executive meeting on Saturday, FFF President Diallo thanked the assembly: “It is a great honour, but also a responsibility,” he said.
