PSG predicted XI v Clermont: Kylian Mbappé to be rested ahead of Barcelona tie

With a UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Barcelona in mind, Paris Saint-Germain are expected to heavily rotate against Clermont Foot on Saturday. Most notably, Kylian Mbappé is expected to drop to the bench for the encounter.

PSG currently have a 12-point lead at the top of Ligue 1. Their lead over second-placed Stade Brestois is at this point unassailable, even if mathematically, they can still be caught. The objective now is silverware. Les Parisiens secured their place in the Coupe de France final thanks to a win over Stade Rennais on Wednesday, and they will look to increase their chances of making the Champions League semi-finals by beating Barcelona at the Parc des Princes next Wednesday.

In order to give themselves the best chance of progressing, Luís Enrique is set to make several changes to his starting XI. Mbappé is unlikely to start, according to L’Équipe. Players such as Lucas Beraldo, Lucas Hernandez and Warren Zaïre-Emery are all also set to cede their place in the team against Ligue 1’s bottom side, Clermont Foot.
