PSG provided boost ahead of Barcelona and Clermont fixtures

Paris Saint-Germain’s March injury crisis looks to be conclusively over after the club released their latest medical update featuring a largely cleared list, with only Presnel Kimpembe (29) remaining a concern, and his return date not yet in sight.

It’s been a long journey for the centre-back after he suffered an Achilles tendon injury in February 2023 that has kept him off the pitch. He was reportedly close to a return to football last December after recovering from surgery, but another setback saw him placed once more under the knife

Good news for PSG

Despite Kimpembe’s struggles, this is in general good news at a crucial time in the season as the club enter this weekend’s tie against bottom-of-the-table Clermont Foot with one eye held firmly on their midweek fixture.

The upcoming Champions League quarter-final against Barcelona will take precedence for PSG and will be the season-defining contest for Luis Enrique’s squad.

The league is likely already theirs and the club are heavy favourites for the Coupe de France, but it’s the Champions League that makes or breaks a season for Les Parisiens
