Bordeaux step up their pursuit of Guingamp striker Jérémy Livolant

Bordeaux have submitted a first offer to their Ligue 2 rivals Guingamp for striker Jérémy Livolant, according to a report from Sud-Ouest. Bordeaux are looking to bolster their squads depth, with Les Girondins also trying to bring in Paris FC forward Morgan Guilavogui, an initial offer of €2m having been rejected. The 25-year-old Guingamp forward is quietly making a name for himself and is producing his best season to date. He has registered three assists and scored seven goals, including this half-volley from long range at Laval this summer:

Sud-Ouest report that Bordeaux are offering more than €1m to Guingamp for Livolant. The outlet add the offer has been rejected, but the Brittany outfit have not closed the door on a deal being reached for the sale of their skipper at the right price. Guingamp have fallen to 12th place in Ligue 2 standings after a string of unconvincing results, whereas Bordeaux are in second place. Livolant, tied to a contract that expires in 2024, is reportedly keen on joining the Aquitaine side and have a shot at a Ligue 1 promotion.
