Troyes improve their offer for Yoann Cathline

L’Équipe report that Ligue 1 strugglers ESTAC Troyes have improved their offer for EA Guingamp winger Yoann Cathline.

The 20-year-old has started the Ligue 2 season very well, but EAG, who themselves sit close to the top of the table, have little to no intention of allowing the player to leave easily, with his contract currently running until 2025.

The proposal now on the table is for €2m – their initial €1.2m bid was knocked back by EAG.

Speaking on the player’s future in a press conference on Thursday, Stéphane Dumont, the Guingamp manager, affirmed his desire to see Cathline remain with EAG past the end of this transfer window:

“As of now, there is no debate about it. He is someone who I am counting on to start a match or to come in and make an impact by entering a match. We want to enjoy the fruits of his work, both for him and for the club.”
