Santi Aouna is reporting that EA Guingamp have rejected an offer from ESTAC Troyes for Yoaan Cathline (20), with the Ligue 2 club holding out for €1.2m.
Troyes first offer for the France U20 winger was worth €750,000, but Guingamp are looking for over €1m, and given that Troyes could also face competition from Ligue 1 rivals Lorient, Guingamp are not willing to sell on the cheap.
Cathline also has three years remaining on his current deal, meaning that the club are under no obligation to sell, although he is not considered “nontransferable.”
As well as the €1.2m, Guingamp also expect bonuses to be included in the deal. In eight appearances for the France U20 side, he has scored two goals and in 20 Ligue 2 appearances last season, he scored once.
Troyes are looking to bring in reinforcements following their poor start to the Ligue 1 season. They remain pointless after three matches and have already conceded 10 goals.
