According to Foot Mercato, Manchester United are considering Kieran McKenna as one of their options to replace Erik Ten Hag at the end of the season.
Since being fired from Manchester United’s coaching staff in November 2021, McKenna was appointed as the manager of Ipswich Town where he has overseen back-to-back promotions, a feat which will return the East Anglian side to the Premier League for the first time in 22 years.
The French media reports that there have been concrete talks between the Northern Irish manager and the Premier League giants. His profile sits well with the new management at the club, while McKenna would be thought to be excited at the prospect of a return to Manchester.
Gareth Southgate remains a popular choice at Manchester United
However, Gareth Southgate remains a popular option behind the scenes at United, although there are concerns over his availability, especially since he would only be able to take over the role after England’s involvement ends in this summer’s Euros.
