The UNFP have revealed their nominees for the Ligue 2 Goalkeeper of the Year. Gautier Larsonneur was hardly a surprise as he is the goalkeeper behind Ligue 2’s best defence with AS Saint-Étienne having only conceded 26 goals in their campaign. While Mamadou Samassa with Stade Lavallois represents an amazing story with the keeper arriving as a free agent ahead of the season but becoming one of the vital cogs in the team’s unlikely playoff push. Angers SCO’s Yahia Fofana, however, became an Africa Cup of Nations winner with Côte d’Ivoire.
