Mary Earps set to become highest-paid goalkeeper after agreeing to join PSG

According to Sports Zone, Mary Earps (31) has agreed to become a Paris Saint-Germain player. It had been reported a few days ago by Le Parisien that negotiations had begun between the England international and Les Parisiennes. However, those negotiations are now complete with the goalkeeper set to join on a free transfer once her contract with Manchester United expires at the end of the month.

In Le Parisiens report, they noted that PSG had outmanoeuvred both United and Olympique Lyonnais in their pursuit of a goalkeeper who was rated the world’s best by FIFA in 2022 and 2023, with Earps set to become the highest-paid goalkeeper in the women’s game when she makes the move to the French capital.

Her signature will be a clear sign of intention from a club that had a frustrating season despite winning the Coupe de France against FC Fleury. PSG were eliminated in Europe and the league by Lyon, and have since lost key players in Tabitha Chawinga (28, to Lyon) and Sandy Baltimore (24, to Chelsea) as well as their head coach Jocelyn Prêcheur.
