According to Foot Mercato, Everton FC are considering a move for Montpellier HSC’s Bećir Omeragić (22). The Swiss international only joined Montpellier last summer on the expiration of his contract with his formative club FC Zürich.
Omeragić made 31 appearances across all competitions for La Paillade as one of the more consistent performers in a team that struggled to impress last season, earning him a recall to his national side for a brief cameo during the friendly against the Republic of Ireland in the international break in March.
Everton have already been active in the French market after securing Iliman Ndiaye (24) from Olympique de Marseille for €17.7 million, and could once again return to Ligue 1 with the club reportedly appreciative of the Swiss centre-back’s profile, and in need of reinforcing their backline ahead of a new campaign.
However, Foot Mercato suggests that Everton are not Omeragić’s only suitor, with it being reported that there are a variety of German clubs that have held an interest in the centre-back having scouted him from a young age.
