In an interview with Téléfoot, the Frenchman was asked whether he would ever be willing to return to the French capital and play for his former club. Nkunku now plays his football in West London for Chelsea after signing for the Premier League club for a fee of €60m from the Red Bull club in 2023. 

The Chelsea attacking midfielder has struggled for fitness since he arrived at Stamford Bridge. Limited to just 14 appearances last season due to the injury, the France international has not been able to make the desired impact. However, the PSG academy graduate is not focused on anything but the Premier League club. 

Asked about a potential return to Les Parisiens, the attacking midfielder laughed off the question, replying, “PSG remains a big club, but there has not been one approach.”

The France captain was a shock exclusion from the Les Bleus’ boss squad as they prepared to face Israel and Belgium. The former Monaco attacker wished to keep the trip a secret and banned the usage of smartphones while in the Swedish capital. Deschamps was asked for his thoughts on the situation, “If the players are on off days they have the freedom to do what they want.”

The Real Madrid midfielder was named captain due to his international and club teammate Kylian Mbappé (25) being left out of Didier Deschamps’ squad for the international break. The France captain’s absence came as a surprise after he played for the Champions League winners, but he has requested to be selective when he is called up by Les Bleus, according to Foot Mercato. 

Tchouaméni was named captain for the match against Israel as Deschamps named a group of three players to potentially take the captaincy. The former Monaco midfielder spoke of his emotions when wearing the armband for the first time against Israel, “It’s an indescribable feeling, it’s something I dreamed of when I was younger.”

In their second match of the international break, Les Bleus are set to face Belgium on Monday at the King Baudouin Stadium.

The National Division for the Fight Against Hooliganism (DLNH) believes that it would be easier to contain any potential security threat by playing the match at the stadium of Paris Saint-Germain rather than at the national stadium in Saint-Dénis. If the match was to be played at the Stade de France, it would not be expected to reach an 80,000 capacity but with a much-reduced capacity of 47,0000 at the Parc de Princes this could pose a potential problem. 

Another issue to contend with is potential compensation for the owners of the Stade de France should the match be held elsewhere due to issues out of their control.

Tuchel is not the only candidate, and the FA has not commented on the possibility of any contact with the former Bayern manager. Graham Potter’s stance has a candidate is considered weak, and Eddie Howe doesn’t want to leave Newcastle. The former Chelsea and PSG boss’s availability without a club makes him much easier to appoint. 

Pep Guardiola is also an option

L’Équipe understands that Manchester City manager Guardiola is also being considered for the vacant post. However, the Spanish coach’s contract at the Etihad Stadium does not expire until June. Carsley could be kept in his position as interim coach until June to allow the FA to appoint the former Barcelona boss.

Despite not participating in the session, Tchouaméni and Maignan should both be able for the fourth matchday of the Nations League, and the Les Bleus medical staff are not worried about the condition of the two French internationals. Both players were involved in France’s 4-1 victory against Israel, with the Real Madrid midfielder being named captain in the absence of Kylian Mbappé. 

Loïc Badé was not involved in training on Friday after feeling minor pain in his hamstring. Before the training session on Saturday, the Sevilla defender underwent an MRI on his hamstring and with no complication found, the Frenchman was cleared to take part in the session.

Having him here, thank God, is a huge satisfaction… We must remember that many people spoke promising that he would bring problems here, that there would be conflicts… All these rumours have fizzled out. Despite the rumours of Mbappé causing a stir at Madrid have fallen flat, the 25-year-old has been at the centre of controversy during the international break. After being left out of France’s squad for the international break, the Frenchman was pictured leaving a nightclub in Stockholm whilst Les Bleus were in action against Isreal in the UEFA Nations League.

After being handed an initial 4-year ban for doping, Pogba has seen his ban reduced to 18 months meaning he can return to training in January. The 31-year-old could make a return to playing in March. However, his current club do not see a future for the former Manchester United midfielder at the Allianz Riviera and are looking to terminate his contract, according to Fabrizio Romano. 

Marseille are not the only club to show an initial interest in Pogba. The Juventus midfielder has also attracted interest from clubs in the MLS. American clubs are monitoring the Frenchman’s contract situation and could make a move should be made a free agent.

The Real Madrid forward forboded the usage of mobile phones whilst he, his former PSG teammate Nordi Mukiele and others visited the Stockholm nightclub “V” during his three-day visit to the Nordic country. However, despite Mbappé’s best efforts to keep his trip a secret, he was pictured wearing a mask leaving the nightclub. He has now left Sweden for Corsica. 

Taking to Instagram before Les Bleus match against Israel, the former PSG attacker wished his players “a good match”. Yet, Aftonbladet have revealed that Mbappé was out partying in a nightclub during France’s 4-1 victory against Israel which has caused a stir back in his homeland.

Tchouaméni has been strongly linked with a move to the Merseyside club in the past. When the former Monaco midfielder signed for Madrid, Liverpool were the other team heavily interested in his services but ultimately lost out in the race to secure the 24-year-old’s signature. Since his arrival in the Spanish capital, these links of a move to Anfield have continued. 

Los Merengues see the Frenchman as a major part of their project and would not want to see him leave the Santiago Bernabèu. Carlo Ancelotti appreciates the quality and the versatility at his disposal by having Tchouaméni within the Real Madrid dressing room.
