In an interview with Téléfoot, France manager Didier Deschamps was asked about his thoughts on Kylian Mbappé’s (25) controversial trip to Sweden during the international break.
The France captain was a shock exclusion from the Les Bleus’ boss squad as they prepared to face Israel and Belgium. Despite being left out of the squad due to injury, the 25-year-old featured in two matches for Real Madrid before the break. Foot Mercato report this is because the former PSG forward has informed those involved in the international set-up that he wishes to be selective in the matches he is involved in as he targets winning the Ballon d’Or in 2025.
With Mbappé out of contention for France, the Real Madrid forward was pictured during a trip to Sweden in which he visited a nightclub in Stockholm. The former Monaco attacker wished to keep the trip a secret and banned the usage of smartphones while in the Swedish capital. Deschamps was asked for his thoughts on the situation, “If the players are on off days they have the freedom to do what they want.”
