Zakaria Aboukhlal (24) endured a difficult campaign last time out. The Morocco international suffered an ACL injury in September that ruled him out for several months. However, having missed much of last campaign, he is now back and a guaranteed starter in a Toulouse FC side that have had a solid start to the Ligue 1 season. However, Foot Mercato understands that the winger may now be on the move.
Prior to his injury, Aboukhlal was one of the brightest attacking prospects in Ligue 1. His performances since returning have been reassuring and they have caught the eye of Southampton’s recruitment department. Foot Mercato understands that whilst the newly promoted Premier League side are yet to submit an offer for Aboukhlal, one may be forthcoming. The Saints are set to soon open talks to sign the Moroccan following their initial enquiry. His contract with Le TéFéCé runs until the summer of 2026.
